Although Vietnamese territory is in the tropics but its weather is divided into three different weather areas in accordance with the Koppen climate classification (one of climate classification systems that are widely used, and it is divided into 5 groups, including tropical, dry, temperate, continental an polar) as the northern region and the north central coast have the kind of humid subtropical climate, the central region and the south-central coast lie in the zone of the tropical monsoon climate, and the southern region will see the tropical savanna climate. 1. Weather in The mountainous far north area of Northern Vietnam: (Sapa, Ha Giang, Bac Ha, Mu Cang Chai)


The weather in this zone encompasses two types of the dry running from October to late March and the wet lasting from April to September. It can become very cold and frosty in December and January, especially at night. As a result, tourists who visit Vietnam should travel these places from October to April for Ha Giang, from September to November for Sapa, and from March to May for Mu Cang Chai.


2. Good time to go to Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Halong Bay, Cuc Phuong, Mai Chau and Ninh Binh):


This zone has a distinct winter and summer seasons, the cool but mostly dry winter will run from November to April, and the summer will last from May to October, and the time from July to September is usually the wettest months of the year.
Therefore, tourists need to visit Ha Long Bay from March to May and from August to October, from early September to late November for Hanoi, and the best time for visiting Ninh Binh from the first lunar month of the year to the third lunar month and from the fifth lunar month to sixth lunar month.


3. Central Vietnam (Hoi An, Danang, Hue, Dalat, Quy Nhon and Nha Trang):


This zone has hot and dry weather from mid-January to late August. Hue and Hoi An sit on opposite sides of Hai Van mountain, leading up to the situation the weather can often differ between them on any given day.
Quy Nhon sees a similar weather pattern but its dry season is slightly longer because of proximity to the southern system.
Besides, Nha Trang benefits from a longer dry season, lasting from January to September, and sees rainy season running from October to early December. We highly recommend that you should go there by the Summer.
Finally, Dalat, in the central highlands, is often wet from June to October, and far drier from November to May. But please remember that Da Lat is always gorgeous all the time. So if you are planning travel Da Lat, Central Vietnam, just go.


4. And Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc Island, Phan Thiet):


The weather in Southern Vietnam is divided into two simple ones, wet and dry. The dry season will begin in November and end in Apri/early May, and the wet one will run from May to early November.
It means the best time for tourists to discover HCMC will be from December to April. From October to March for visiting Phu Quoc and do not go to Phu Quoc from Jully to September by ferry boat, big winds and high waves always wait. From March to September is a great time for Con Dao discovery. And finally, you can visit Phan Thiet most of the months of the year.
